So here is an update on my sweet nephew Colton. I tried working yesterday and broke down in tears as it was the first time I was away from my kids and could actually grasp what was going on without having to keep a strong face up. I made it through the morning but my amazing co-workers came to my aid and covered my shifts for the week so I could get to New York. My mother-in-law, Mary Bryant, came to our aid helping with the boys and dogs. So I hopped on Jetblue and headed to JFK.
Colton is a rockstar. He calmly told me about the three water balloons and one marble that he had in his brain. The doctor is going to try and pop the balloons and remove the marble. If he can't get the whole marble, they will use a proton beam to blast it out.
He is doing well for the most part. This morning was rough. He said the hospital was the same as prison and he wanted out of the torture place. He hated his life and did not understand why this had to happen to him. After a talk with his Karate Master and his cousin Connor, he was in better spirits and ate his breakfast, took a shower, walked around the hospital in his underwear and t-shirt (He thought this was very funny) and is now with child life playing instruments and games and keeping his mind off things.
